| |
Position Duties:
* Provide technical guidance to software engineers on development of functional specifications, design, code and tests.
* Provide technical guidance to software engineers in troubleshooting customer issues & software defects reported by customers.
* Lead effort estimation, development planning & tracking.
* Coordinate development of detailed designs, code and test suites within the team.
* Allocate work to software engineers, monitor development progress within team, report progress to engineering management.
* Coordinate with other onsite/offsite teams for issues relating to the assigned product/component.
* Lead a team of 5-8 software engineers.
* Work with Engineering Manager to define performance objectives for team members and provide feedback on individual performance.
* Work closely and cooperatively with other teams/functions to collaboratively execute projects.
* Ensure Varian quality systems compliance for all projects.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
BE, MSc, MCA, PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
Previous Experience:
* 6 – 8 years years of experience in software product development
* 2+ years of experience in a lead role.
* 3+ years of Experience & strong development skills in VC++/MFC & C#.Net.
* Experience on COM, .Net Remoting & WCF would be an added advantage
* Strong experience in object oriented designs & design patterns.
* Must have authored or contributed to the development of software functional specifications
* Strong problem solving skills.
* Must have demonstrated experience to handle fairly large Product or product modules in the past and should be able to ramp up on the Varian’s product Architecture, Design & code base in reasonable time frame.
* Must possess good project leading skills including estimation, scheduling and progress tracking
* Must possess basic leadership skills including direction, delegation, feedback, coaching and motivation.
* Good time management organization, inter-personal skills.
* Should have worked in a distributed, multi-site environment.
* Experience handling File I/O Streams, writing windows Services would be an added value.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
